I purchased the Braun Series 9 Sport model 9310cc in November 2023 after my Norelco Series 6 shaver started to make a very loud sound after having it for 3 years. Thinking it should have lasted longer for what I paid for it, I purchased the Braun shaver. I first had to go to an electric razor because I am on a blood thinner and I didn’t want a small nick to take a long time to stop bleeding. If I were to rank closeness of shaves, I would say a regular razor is first followed by Norelco and the Braun shaver was a distant third. After purchasing the Braun I found out it came out in 2019. The Series 9 Pro (94xx) was launched in 2021 and the Series 9 Pro + (95xx) was launched in 2023. I saw different Series 9 models out there, but I didn’t know what they were and could only go off price. The Braun shaver has a pop-up trimmer. Comes with a travel case (which I highly doubt I will use while traveling) & a cleaning/charging (it cleans and then charges) station (which measures 4 1/4w x 5 ½ d x 9 ¼h with the razor in). Make sure you have counter space for this next to an outlet.Upkeep on the Braun it is recommended to purchase replacement blades every 18 months and a new cleaning liquid for the cleaning station every 30 days. This cleaner can be purchased cheaper through a company not associated with Braun, but I heard of several people whose blades rusted after using. Since it wasn’t that much cheaper, I purchased the Braun cleaner so I didn’t have to worry. I haven’t purchased replacement blades yet, but my guess is that the cost of upkeep for the Norelco and the Braun are about equal. They recommend replacing the blades on the Norelco every 12 months, but it does not come with a cleaning station. Both shavers came with a chord to charge the razors but the razors would not run while plugged in.They say a charge would last 30 days, but that is assuming one shaves for just three minutes. It takes more than 6 minutes for me to shave as I have to go over the same spot multiple times and it still leaves stray hairs that I have to get with a tweezers. It does not shave the spot above my lip very well even if I press really hard. I am trying to imagine what it will be like when the blades are not as sharp.I wanted to review the Braun razor as I wanted to provide my opinion of it versus my experience with the Norelco and some information I found out after the fact by reading the manual and other internet searches. I remember being confused by all the Braun Series 9 razors and wondering what the difference was between the razors. I plan on purchasing another Norelco razor as I felt it was a much better razor offering a closer shave.
